Oh, my sweet Texas Fire
the door of passion and desire!
And the pearls of your eyes
are nothing but dusty lights
of secret roads around the lake
full your sorrows and your pain.
Let me be your dream of fields and rains
be asleep, be happy, and don't awake
never awake!
Oh, my sweet Texas Rose
with my decease, your beauty grows.

Unlike, for instance, Etta James, who could strike down any unwanted approaches with a steely-eyed glare, Sharon Lewis is warm, engaging, friendly to a fault and admittedly blessed to be singing the blues as one of Chicago’s finest living natural resources.
“That was other people who put that up,” she says about her “Blues Diva Sharon Lewis” billing around her house gig, the legendary Chicago blues club Kingston Mines.
“I don’t understand that, and I don’t see the point to be not real,” she says. “I don’t have it in my heart to be rude, to not be as accessible to people … I welcome that.”
Even though her fame is ever growing, Sharon stays humble. Her music carem started 1993 in Buddy Guy’s Legends Club. She performs since than all around the US and the whole world. Her shows are unforgettable and she always show a passion for blues and soul. In this moment, Sharon collaborates with Jimmy Johnson, Harmonica Hines, John Primer, Dave Specter, Carlos Johnson or Sony Seals. Last year she has started to work with the legendary Delmark Records label and her CD The Real Deal has became a sensation of that year. She was nominated as a singer of the year at the Living Blues Awards as well.
But it is her nickname that sums it all. Texas Fire. Warm, passionate, full of energy, that’s her and her shows. The old time blues of her will magically change your evening into something remarkable and wonderful.
