Since moving to the Czech Republic, Osian has also worked with many fine Czechmusicians, such as Najponk, Martin Šulc, František Uhlíř, Svatopluk Košvanec,Jan Kořínek, and Libor Šmoldas.
Osian Roberts + 2 is his new trio featuring two of Prague's most outstandingmusicians, bass virtuoso Petr Dvorský and drummer Martin Novák. The bandplays a mixture of original music and new arrangements of classic jazz standardsby the likes of Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Dizzy Gillespie, Thelonious Monk,and Billy Stayhorn.
Ondřej Štveráček saxophonist is one of the best-known jazz figures of rising generation in this country.
He plays in Gustav Brom´s orchestra and he regularly collaborates with Jerry Bergonzi, George Mraz, Joe Cohn, Dennis Rowland, Philip Harper, Uwe Plath, Ryan Carniaux, Erik Doelman, Udo Van Boven, Igor Buttman, Mel Canady, Peter Beets, Stepan Markovic, Jonathan Crossley, Erik Rottenstein, Lubos Sramek, Klaudius Kovac, David Doruzka, Angelko Stupar, Milan Nikolic, Juraj Bartos, Oskar Rozsa, Jaromír Honzák more . In addition to sideman activities, however he develops his own system to play jazz saxophone inspired by jazz tradition. Coltraine concept called Sheets of Sound leaks Štveráček's phrasing and his tonal timbre is without doubt inspired by the same source.
Štveráček has with jazz legend in common also perfectly mastered craft of jazz. He is not surprised by any awkward and hurried pace deal with arbitrarily complex harmonies or metro. In recent years Štveráček showshis own musical personality in his music, which benefit both himself and his listeners. The band is currently preparing its own profile album and so it go around all the important jazz destinations in Central Europe. Štveráček´s current view of jazz help flesh out true jazz masters of the rising generation.
Debut album ONDŘEJ ŠTVERÁČEK QUARTET - "WHAT'S OUTSIDE" was nominated for the Angel Award as BEST JAZZ.
