DESTINY AFRICAN CHILDREN'S CHOIR

During the past 3 years, the Destiny Africa Children’s Choir has traveled from their home in Uganda to bring their joyous sound and beautiful faces to both Great Britain and the USA. They were privileged to perform before the Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, infront of the Welsh Assembly, and at the Rhode Island State House!

The children within the choir are between the ages of 9 and 17 years and have been rescued from horrific situations and many were orphans. They have been rescued and now live at Kampala Children’s Centre — a community of homes, a school, a farm, youth center, workshop and other resources among which these children live, learn and thrive. Their lives have been transformed and now these children sing a new song, one of hope, restoration, freedom and joy and they are bringing it on tour!

During their performance, the children will share their dreams and stories of hope though a lively mix of contemporary and traditional African songs, drumming and dances. Come and hear the inspiring sound of lives that have been given a new hope and a new start.

Kampala Children’s Centre was the vision of Arnold Muwonge, who now serves as its Director. Located outside of the city of Kampala, the Centre was for more than 12 years just a vision in Arnold’s heart. It opened in 2005, and is now home to approximately 120 children. The goal is to eventually be able to house, educate and care for at least 1000 orphans from within Uganda. The hope is that when these children reach age 18, they will go back into the communities to work, or go on to University.

Arnold Muwonge explains ‘Our heart is to give the best to the least’, some of these children have come from such horrific situations, yet they have been given hope at Kampala Children Centre. We are excited to return to the US to bring a message of hope and encouragement to all the people we meet and to say thank you to our increasing number of supporters.

All proceeds from each tour will go towards supporting the work of Kampala Children’s Centre: to rescue and save more precious children’s lives and give them the gift of a bright future.
