Vocalist, pianist, arranger Alizon Lissance is best known to area music fans as the versatile keyboard wizard for The Love Dogs, Boston’s premier band for swing and R&B. Her gutsy rock 'n blues style has delighted audiences on local, national and international stages. A 1991 Boston Music Awards winner for “Outstanding Keyboardist,” Alizon has worked with, among others, Lavern Baker, Daena Giardella, Shirley Lewis Mighty and Sam McClain. Before she started her 12-year stint with The Love Dogs, Lissance was a founding member of Girls Night Out, Boston’s 1970s all-female rock ’n’ soul band. Hard blowing R&B sax player “Sax Gordon” Beadle joins Alizon. After early career work with Bay Area blues giant Johnny Heartsman, Beadle relocated to the East Coast. Five years and many recordings with Luther "Guitar Junior" Johnson established Beadle on the international scene. Beadle has performed with a who’s who of R&B and soul stars including Matt "Guitar" Murphy, Duke Robillard, Jimmy Witherspoon, Jay McShann, Roomful of Blues, Junior Watson, John Hammond, Sherman Robertson, Toni Lynn Washington, and soul legend Solomon Burke. He has also performed with Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown, James Cotton, Junior Wells, Little Milton, Ben E. King, Hubert Sumlin, Sam Moore (of Sam & Dave), Johnny Johnson, Howard Tate, Martha Reeves, and Johnny Copeland.
Rounding out the quartet are drummer Chris Rivelli and bassist Greg Holt. A graduate of Berklee College of Music where he is currently on the faculty, Chris studied with jazz legend Alan Dawson. He has toured nationally and internationally with blues greats Duke Robillard, Roomful of Blues, Janiva Magness, John Nemeth, Toni Lynn Washington, Junior Watson, and Matthew Stubbs among others. Greg Holt is a familiar face around Boston having performed at all the major jazz clubs with a who’s who of New England talent.
