The TBS Blues Challenge is a local blues competition in two categories – solo/duo and band. Winners earn the right to travel to Memphis, TN, to further compete in the International Blues Challenge (IBC) held January 13-17, 2026. The IBC is sponsored by The Blues Foundation (BF) and consists of winners from affiliate societies worldwide.
 
Triangle Blues Society (TBS), a 501 (c3) organization, is an all-volunteer non-profit organization working together to support, promote, and grow blues music in the Raleigh-Durham Chapel Hill North Carolina area. TBS has been an affiliate of the Blues Foundation since 1996.
