WCOM-FM is a three-year-old community radio station located in the Chapel Hill-Carrboro, North Carolina area, home of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. It programs an electic mix of music and public affairs programs, which includes a great deal of jazz, mostly notably the Sunday block of shows, beginning at 3pm-5pm with the avant-garde jazz program, Jazz Incognito, hosted by Will Vizuete. From 7pm to 9pm, Melva's Musings on Jazz, which concentrates on local jazz musicians and jazz musicians with a Carolina connection is aired. Sunday Night Jazz with Larry Reni Thomas, which deals with the evolution of jazz, from early jazz music, to the big band era, to bebop and beyond, is on from 9pm to 12 midnight
