About
Formed in 2014, in a sense, the Moonlight Swing Band’s DNA goes back to the 1930s and 40s and the era of the big brass bands, Glenn Miller and Tommy Dorsey, and the crooners who sang on top of them, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, and Frank Sinatra. In our short history, we’ve played a variety of venues and events – the Raleigh Convention Center, area arts councils, the grand opening of Wilson’s nationally acclaimed Vollis Simpson Whirligig Park, wedding rehearsal dinners, birthday parties, retirement communities, and galas, and have played benefit performances for local nonprofit agencies and organizations....
