For technical and stylistic needs, the Quartet has an instrumental staff that fully reflects the historical formations of the cultured and composite jazz tradition of the 50s and 60s. The two stylistic forms of Hard bop and Cool Jazz, blossomed at the end from the 40s and developed in their apical form in the 50s, are the result of the tireless creative research and the deep harmonic, melodic, rhythmic and instrumental knowledge of musicians such as Stan Getz, John Coltrane, Sonny Rollins, Dexter Gordon and Johnny Griffin (only to name a few), which still represent one of the objectively highest aesthetic models established during the last century. Therefore, the repertoire of the Venanzio Venditti Jazz Quartet is essentially based on original standards and compositions intimately characterized by these stylistic models.”
