On his new album ‘Tribe’ the Italian trumpet player Enrico Rava mixes old and new songs. Along with trombonist Gianluca Petrella he forms a marvelous duo. The rest of his new quintet consists of pianist Giovanni Guidi, bassist Gabriele Evangelista and drummer Fabrizio Sferra. ‘Tribe’ is one of Rava’s best albums in the great series of albums he released since 2003 on the influential label ECM.
