About
Accurately called the world’s greatest living jazz composer, Wayne Shorter played tenor and soprano sax. I picked the best of Wayne’s timeless jazz tunes that click with the (fretted, six-string, electric) violin: Footprints, Mahjong, Tom Thumb, etc. Don’t be afraid, because the support team (aka, the band) is Peter Sprague on double-neck guitar, Bob Magnusson on bass, & Duncan Moore on drums. Plan on being at Dizzy’s at the new location, the Musician’s Union Arias Hall, 1817 Morena Blvd. Friday Feb. 2, 8:00 pm ($20 cover). Visit www.dizzysjazz.com for details. Lots of parking & cool restaurants nearby.
