Sandy Cressman & Homenagem Brasileira at Bach Dancing & Dynamite Society

The Bach opens the fall series with vocalist Sandy Cressman and Homenagem Brasileira (an homage to Brazil.) Cressman began her career with the highly acclaimed vocal jazz group Pastiche before being swept into her passion for Brazilian jazz. While many an American jazz singer flirts with the Brazilian songbook, Cressman made a name for herself as a true devotee of the country’s greatest contemporary composers, interpreting songs by post-bossa masters like Milton Nascimento, Hermeto Pascoal, Gilberto Gil, and Filó Machado in Rio-accented Portuguese. She has released three critically acclaimed albums including Homenagem Brasileira, Brasil-Sempre no Coração, and Entre Amigos which features all original music that Cressman composed with contemporary Brazilian composers, such as Santos Neto and Antonio Adolfo.
