Well-known for her role in alternative bluegrass band, Crooked Still, vocalist/songwriter/guitarist Aoife O’Donovan (pronounced EE- f ah) now steps to the fore with her debut solo album, Fossils. The versatility and appeal of her voice has already landed her collaborations with Alison Krauss and Dave Douglas. She was also the voice heard on The Goat Rodeo Sessions, a super-group album spearheaded by Yo-Yo Ma and Chris Thile. Though firmly planted in the bluegrass genre, her voice has wisps of jazz and classical training which dances and skips across the soothing material on Fossils.
