Titled "Bim Bom - Symphonic Joao Gilberto", the concerts include Gilberto's tunes that were recorded by such masters as Stan Getz, Charlie Byrd, Luiz Bonfa, Coleman Hawkins, Gary McFarland, Cannonball Adderley and many others, with arrangements by Roberto Sion, Marcelo Ghelfi, Don Sebesky and Claus Ogerman. The concerts also feature the world premiere live performance of a piece co-written by Joao Gilberto and Brazil's legendary writer, Jorge Amado. There's also a Gil Evans score originally written for an album he would have recorded with Joao Gilberto back in 1965, but which was never released.
