Rob Lindquist, piano
Keyboardist/Composer, Robert Lindquist was born and raised in Albany, New York. He has played piano since he was seven and started composing and improvising shortly thereafter. He attended SCCC and SUNY Potsdam for Music Education/Performance and recently Masters in Jazz Studies at The College of St. Rose. He is trained in both classical and jazz piano. His teachers have included Dan Dobek (Classical/Jazz), Mark Evans (Classical, SCCC), Eugenia Tsarov (Classical, Crane School of Music), Lee Shaw (Jazz Piano, College of St. Rose) and Brett Zvacek (Jazz Studies, Crane School of Music). Rob has appeared in performance with Chuck D'Aloia, Jeff Seigel, Dave Calarco, John Menegon, Scott Weinholdt, Harry Allen, Dick Oatts and Brett Zvacek. He has performed professionally since he was fifteen in upstate NY and also in Boston, NYC, and N.J playing many styles including jazz, rock and classical music. He has played gigs with: the Dave Calarco "Jazz Conclave", "New Regime", "EW Quintet", "Lee Russo Group", "Mike Dimin Ensemble", " Keith Pray Group", "Brian Patneaude Quintet", "Cleen Street R&B Band", "Soul System", "Melting Picassos" and "The Karen Lawrence Band". He has also free-lanced with many other groups in the area. Rob has taught privately for ten years and is currently a Band Director in the Albany City School District.
Jason Emmond, bass
Jason Emmond is an upright and electric bass player and composer residing in upstate New York. After growing up in New Hampshire and obtaining his bachelor’s degree from the University of New Hampshire,
Jason made the move to Kansas City to play jazz. Recently, he relocated to Albany, NY, where he is continuing his music career.
Jason keeps busy playing with a variety of talented musicians from New York City, Kansas City, upstate New York, and beyond. You can find him playing often with artist Eddie Moore and his band, We the People, who have backed up notable artists such as Andre Hayward, Chantae Cann and Andrew Bailie.
With more exciting shows on the horizon and his first original album in the works, expect to hear more from Jason in the coming months.
Matt Niedbalski, drums
Matt Niedbalski is a drummer known for bringing musicality and energy to the bandstand. Born and raised in New York’s Capital District, Matt was exposed to music at a very early age. While in high school he took private drum lessons with drummer/author Ted Mackenzie and participated in the Empire State Youth Orchestra as well as the Skidmore Summer Jazz Institute. Before graduating high school Matt played with many local musicians, performing at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, the Final Stretch Music Festival and the Lake George Jazz Festival where he opened for Rudresh Manthappa and Bunky Green.
