Bruce Phares & Francesco Crosara at Vashon Center For The Arts

Bassist Bruce Phares is known for his work with the late Overton Berry, as well as his duet work with guitarist John Stowell. Recently coming back onto the local music scene, Bruce is presenting a number of eclectic projects with various artists.
Phares has performed with jazz greats including the Diane Schuur, Larry Coryell, Roland Hannah, Frank Wess, George Cables, Bruce Forman, Charlie Bird, Ernestine Anderson, etc., in his years as a first-call bassist for Jazz Alley’s star headliners.

Originally from Milan, Italy, pianist Francesco Crosara’s music melds an impressive mix of jazz improvisation, a romantic vein from his classical training, along with Latin influences. Crosara who has performed with jazz greats such as Lionel Hampton, Freddie Hubbard, Roy Hargrove, Richie Cole, Ira Sullivan, Bobby Shew, Bruce Forman, Don Menza, Barbara Morrison, and many others, is now based in the Northwest since 2017. Crosara recently participated in the 2021 Earshot Jazz Festival, and appears at select venues around town in a variety of jazz styles, ranging from all acoustic with classical and Blues influences, to electric fusion melded with world music and a Latin imprint....
