It would be safe to say that many, perhaps most, Seattle jazz fans know Carter Eng as the talented young trumpeter often featured with Scott Brown’s nationally renowned Roosevelt High School bands. Since that time, Eng studied in San Francisco for four years and returned home to Seattle, a choice we should be glad he made. He’s done things the right way, frequenting jam sessions around town, diving into SJF and in general, acclimating himself to the scene here.
