In a “battle trance” this genre-defying tenor saxophone quartet of Travis Laplante, Matthew Nelson, Jeremy Viner, and Patrick Breiner reveals, as on their Palace of Wind debut album, a kinship with Evan Parker’s whirling soundscapes “with the ephemeral and unquestionable logic of a dream” (AdHoc).
