The New York first-call bassist heads a riveting quartet featuring two of the most spirited and innovative saxophonists in jazz today, Darius Jones and Bill McHenry. With eclectic drummer Chad Taylor (Chicago Underground), they carry the flame of free-jazz pioneers like Albert Ayler. Opening is the new sextet of soprano saxophonist Kate Olson. Interpreting her savvy compositions with measure, imagination, and great spirit are Sam Boshnack, trumpet; Chris Credit, tenor sax; Geoff Harper, bass; Tim Kennedy, keys; Eric Eagle, drums.
