George Colligan makes the trip up I5 from Portland to pay us a visit, and we are fortunate he is doing so. One of the most accomplished jazz pianists of the past thirty years, Colligan has taken residence in the bands of Jack DeJohnette, Gary Bartz, Cassandra Wilson, Christian McBride and many others. He has released over twenty albums as a leader. Colligan currently makes his residence in Portland, where he teaches at Portland State. Jazz fans in the PNW are the fortunate recipients of that move, in that we have the opportunity to see Colligan play in more intimate situations, more often.
