In this workshop, internationally acclaimed vocalist Jay Clayton will cover the basics of jazz singing: vocal warm-up exercises; establishing personal keys; counting off tempos; exploring “jazz feels”; understanding form, clarity, and honesty of lyrics; stock arrangements; and beginning improvisation. Following a lesson on everything you need to sing the jazz standards, some will have the opportunity to perform a standard and receive feedback from Jay!
