A new Quintet featuring the music of prolific composer/trumpeter Samantha Boshnack (Reptet,
B’shnorkestra, Picoso) hits the Royal Room in May. Boshnack (trumpet) with Beth Fleenor
(clarinets), Dawn Clement (piano), Isaac Castillo (bass), and Max Wood (drums), will premiere

Over the last 8 years, Boshnack has generated an ever-growing body of work between a collection
of ensembles. Inaugural performances of her two newest projects - B’shnorkestra and
the Sam Boshnack Quintet – debuted in 2011, and began a new trajectory for the unmistakably
exuberant composer. The new projects spotlight both Boshnack’s compositions as well as work
as band leader and trumpeter.
