Sequim City Band and Navy Band Northwest present an "Emerald Green & Navy Blue" concert in honor of St. Patrick's Day! Tickets are free but space is limited; please RSVP to secure your seat. Starting at 12pm, Irish-themed food and drinks will be available in the Field Hall Pat Donlin Lobby.Sequim City Band starts the lively music program with a medley of Irish tunes. This latter piece is a nod to the first performing arts theater (opened November 1922) in Port Angeles. The march is in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Sousa Band's 1923-1924 North American tour when the band performed matinee and evening concerts at Port Angeles' Mack Theatre (a 1922 local landmark that is no longer standing).After a brief intermission, Navy Band Northwest takes the stage with some lively Irish tunes including several that were preserved in the concert band literature by the composer Percy Grainger.
