A master of jazz improvisation, Francesco’s piano style mixes a strong romantic vein from his classical training at the Music Conservatory of Santa Cecilia in Rome with bouncy lyrical expression in the jazz and Latin idioms. He feels equally at ease as a solo pianist and sharing the stage with fellow musicians on both acoustic and electric keyboards. His favorite format is the jazz piano trio for the intimacy that it creates, and the subtle interplay with bass and drums.
SUS 4
Sus 4 is a new music group featuring Kurt Bischoff on drums, Pat McInnis on guitar, Steve Newton on bass and Joe Rice on keyboards. Bischoff, who composed the music for the group studied at the University of California, Davis with Stanley Lunetta, Larry Austin and John Cage and has traveled internationally with the avant garde performance group Amra Arma. McInnis, Newton and Rice are all local jazz, latin and rock musicians who have performed with a variety of groups. Sus 4 will be playing all-original material that meets at the intersection of jazz and progressive rock.
The concert at the BIMA promises to be an inspiring night of jazz music celebration for musicians and fans alike.
