Stanley Ruvinov Trio at Seattle Jazz Fellowship

Another of Seattle’s young lions out and about and living in New York. Bassist Stanley Ruvinov spent a few years in Philly as well, and that experience has stuck to his playing like soul on fire. Ruvinov has always had a keen sense of time and solid technique, but aside from refinements in those areas born in practive and dedication, his playing has gained a soulfulness that reflects his journey over the past five years or so.

All three are skilled composers with great familiarity with each other’s tunes. Jazz standards will become new modes to interpret fully as well, all within a group mind developed over time–something unusual and fascinating for young artists. The intent is there, the focus and dedication to craft is evident and obvious.
