About
Oscar Rivers, Jr., is one of Charleston’s greatest artists performing Chicago & New York style Jazz. He is the quintessential representative of the Charleston-Orangeburg, South Carolina jazz connection. The Burke High School saxophone prodigy went to South Carolina State College where he built a reputation that still stands. Oscar is accompanied with Paul Gelpi on bass, Don Fields on drums. Alva Anderson, female vocalist visiting from New York City, will also be performing with the Oscar Rivers Jazz Quartet.
