The classic novel, The Phantom of the Opera (Le Fantôme de l’Opéra), was written by French author Gaston Leroux in 1911. The film, directed by Carl Laemmle in 1925 features Lon Chaney as Erik The Phantom and Mary Philbin as singer Christine Daae. Certain scenes caused quite a stir among moviegoers in 1925 and we’re excited to present this film, with new music created in the moment, 99 years later!
