St. Louis Poet Laureate Michael Castro’s Unity Community Series brings members of the area’s diverse arts communities together in a creative sharing with each other and the community at large. Here the focus is on creative collaboration. STL, free jazz collective, features some of the area’s best players and improvisers carrying on a free music tradition, sometimes called “the St. Louis thing.” And Michael Castro is no stranger to poetry music collaborations, having performed with jazz artists in the United States and Europe for decades.
