Diane Linscott Quartet at Ginny & Jane E's At The Old Iga

Song stylist DIane Linscott, a winter resident of Anna Maria, who performs throughout the country, will continue to help keep jazz alive on the Island.

Linscott, whose voice and style are reminiscent of jazz great Ella Fitzgerald, is teaming up with Ginny and Jane E's owners Tammy and Paul Foster for a unique show at the iconic consignment store/coffee house/eatery at 9807 Gulf Drive.

"We're calling it Jazz Night at the Old IGA," she said. We're hoping people come out to support this live music."

Anna Maria Island has a plethora of live music on any given night for the enjoyment of tourists to experience the ambiance of the island. Quite naturally there is more "Margaritaville" than jazz, but Linscott feels there are plenty of people who love and respect the jazz genre as well....

"We want this to be a listening experience one finds in a jazz club where the focus is on the music. This is the format I have come to prefer. It's just one kind of the many types of venues where musicians perform." she said.

Linscott, a regular at Ginny and Jane E's from the beginning, said, "Ginny and Jane E's has always been a must see to people who come here. It had never occurred to me to perform jazz here, but Paul bought one of my CD's, liked what he heard and approached me about playing there. Now it feels like a perfect fit and venue for jazz."
