The second concert of the St. Petersburg Jazz Festival features the LaRue Nickelson Quartet at the Side Door. The group consists of LaRue Nickelson on Guitar, Patrick Bettison on Chromatic Harmonica and Piano, Elias Tona on Electric Bass and Ian Goodman on drums. They play all original music written by LaRue, Patrick and Elias. The music encompasses every style that has been used in Jazz to this date---and then some. With LaRue’s interest in everything from Heavy Metal to Brazilian music, Patrick’s experience in London playing with heavyweight Improvisers , Elias’ deep groove sense stemming from his upbringing in Barquisimeto, Venezuela and Ian’s ability to make it all into a cohesive whole; this will be a very special evening of fresh jazz!
