Taipei Artist Village Cafe

Taipei Artist Village (TAV, 台北國際藝術村) is a four story building located in the heart of Taiwan's governmental district in Taipei City. The building used to be the office of the Maintenance Engineering Public Works Bureau of Taipei City Government (台北市政府養工處) and Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation (台北捷運公司) at one point, but was left unoccupied for many years. In 2001, the Cultural Affairs Bureau of Taipei City Government reclaimed the vacant building and transformed it into Taiwan's first international artist village.

TAV provides residency programs for artists in Taiwan and around the world. The International Artist In Residence exchange program allows artists from other countries to reside at TAV and collaborate with local artists. There are currently over thirty countries and many more organizations participating in exchange programs with TAV.

To support artists with their projects, TAV also organizes regular exhibitions and performances for resident artists to promote interaction between artists and the general public. Artists can also sell and display their works at a retail center and coffee shop inside TAV.

TAV hopes to develop into one of the leading centers of arts and culture in Asia by building a strong network of artists both locally and globally.
