Darin Gray (US) focuses on the essential in his music. Through the handling of his double or electric bass, Gray makes the question of the roles of composition or improvisation in his performances pointless. It becomes clear to the listener very soon that it is only about Darin Gray's music beyond useless category definitions. His humble approach and exceptionally strong intensity have taken the man around the world for years with his solo performances and various projects. Gray has worked for years e.g. indie band with guitarist Jim O'Rourke, also known from the ranks of Sonic Youth, and Wilco's Glenn Kotche. The number of recordings and concerts of the prolific bassist is staggering. Gray is definitely one of the most significant names in improvised and experimental music.

Nelihenkinen Oaagaada on raikas tuulahdus kotimaisen jazzin kentällä. Vahvasti vapaan jazzin perinteille kumartavan yhtyeen esitykset luottavat rohkeasti soittohetkeen. Omat sävellykset saatetaan soittaa lähes kuiskaten tai kunnolla päästellen. Yhtyeen runsas ja kollektiivinen soundimaailma sisältään ilot ja surut samassa lauseessa. Kyse on 100%:sta livemusiikista.
Darin Gray (US) keskittyy musiikissaan olennaiseen. Kontra- tai sähköbassonsa käsittelyn kautta Gray tekee turhaksi kysymyksen sävellyksen tai improvisaation rooleista esityksissään. Kuulijalle käy hyvin pian selväksi, että kyse on vain ja ainoastaan Darin Grayn musiikista turhien kategoria määritelmien ylitse. Nöyrä lähestyminen ja poikkeuksellisen vahva intensiteetti on vienyt miestä ympäri maailmaa vuosia sooloesitysten ja eri projektiensa kanssa. Gray on työskennellyt vuosia mm. indieyhtye Sonic Youthinkin riveistä tunnetun kitaristi Jim O'Rourken ja Wilco-yhtye Glenn Kotchen kanssa.
