Cat Conner is a Los Angeles-based jazz singer who got her start in her hometown of Toronto. She performed for many years with some of Canada’s renowned jazz musicians, including Peter Appleyard, Eugene Amaro & Don “DT” Thompson. Conner moved to L.A. in 1999 when she put her vocal career aside for several years because of personal difficulties. However, music was never far from her heart, and she became very involved in the Los Angeles jazz scene. Conner was encouraged to return to performing by the legendary woodwind player Gene Cipriano, who is widely regarded as the most recorded musician ever. She revved up her career again and began performing in jazz clubs up and down the California coast, accompanied by jazz greats including Pete Christlieb, Emil Richards, Gary Foster, Gary Smulyan and Don Menza.

Conner released her first CD, “Cat Tales,” in 2012. The CD featured the late George Mesterhazy, one of the finest East Coast pianist/arrangers who is known for his work with Shirley Horn and Rebecca Parris, as well as Cipriano and bassist Jim Hughart. “Cat Tales” received excellent reviews and was named “Best CD of 2012″ by All About Jazz.

The new CD, “Cat House,” features an all-star band, including John Chiodini, who also wrote the arrangements, Gene Cipriano, Tom Ranier, Joe LaBarbera, Chuck Berghofer, Ron Stout, and Dick Nash.
