John MacMurchy is an artist whose principal area of interest has been as a musician and composer. He has produced two CD albums to critical acclaim and international airplay. He has composed for jazz trio, quartet and quintet, the Mike Cado tentet, various big bands and also for string quartet. John also composes choral music. Being fluent in classical and early twentieth century music has led to diverse influences in his music but the compositions are cohesive and original. As a performer he has worked with artists as varied as Henry Mancini, Linda Ronstadt, Guido Basso and Cleo Lane.
