About
Jazz and Blues vocalist Kalya Ramu is a fresh graduate from the Humber College Music Degree program. Kalya started her professional career at the age of 12, performing as a solo vocalist with the Sheraton Cadwell Orchestra, and then joined the Toronto All Star Big Band. Drawing influence from Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Ray Charles and Anita O’Day, Kalya’s unique voice is smooth and sultry with a bit of a growly kick. She can swing through any Porter or Gershwin standard like it’s nobody’s business!
