Recently awarded the 2015 Toronto Independent Music Award for Best Jazz Vocals, Resident 120 Diner crooner Ori Dagan is pleased to devote an evening to the musical legacy of June Christy. Following in the footsteps of Anita O’Day, Christy was a member of the “cool school” of jazz singing. With a style rooted in understatement and fuelled by a contagious sense of swing, Christy remains one of the cherished heroines of jazz singing. The evening will feature Richard Whiteman on piano with guest vocalists Pam Hyatt and Marla Lukofsky.
