Rob Henderson, percussionist/trumpeter, and the man behind The H Factor, plays in the tradition of Philadelphia drummers such as Bobby Durham and Mickey Roker. In the tradition of another Philadelphia bandleader named Sun Ra, Henderson has released material on his own label, shedding light on cohorts such as tenor saxophonist Larry McKenna, pianists Paul Pelusi and Thomas Lawton, and bassist Pete Colangelo. He has been active in Philly since the '60s, when he began gigging with rhythm and blues artists such as Puff and Floyd McDaniel. Most recently Henderson performed at the Clifford Brown and Tony Williams Scholarship Jazz Festivals, and has been hosting the weekly Sunday Sessions at LaRose Jazz Club in Germantown....

Vocalist Michael Andrews, one of the smoothest and most soulful, bass/baritone balladeers on the scene, is often compared to the great Arthur Prysock. What they have in common is a rarity in any type of music: an instantly identifiable sound. Andrews is comfortable singing R&B, spirituals and show tunes, in addition to jazz. He has sung with the east coast's top players, appeared in concert at venues in Atlantic City, Philadelphia and at Mohonk Mountain House in New York's Catskill Mountains, and has just recorded a justifiably acclaimed CD with James Witherite and The Zero Point Band.
