A Tribute to the George Shearing Quintet was a one-time gig to recreate the sound of that fabulous ensemble that performed in the early 50's through the 80's. The legendary Shearing "sound" is the feature of this very special tour: piano, vibes and guitar playing unison melodies. Two of the current special group, vibist Charlie Shoemaker and drummer Colin Bailey are former members of the original ensemble, performing in Tucson with pianist Joe Bagg, guitarist Frank Potenza and bassist Luther Hughes.
