Ragtime Pianists Scott Kirby And Donald Ryan at Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame

The Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame welcomes ragtime piano gurus Scott Kirby and Donald Ryan to the Jazz Depot stage. After obtaining an English degree from Ohio State University, Scott Kirby moved to New Orleans and began his professional music career, as a street performer. In the following four years, he recorded the complete rags of Scott Joplin, and made his debut at all of the major ragtime festivals in the United States, as well as festivals in Belgium, France, Norway, New Zealand, and Hungary. Donald Ryan is a commanding and dynamic pianist. He had been called "a music kaleidoscope, sparkling at everything he plays." This "everything" encompasses the arenas of classical, religious/inspirational, ragtime and jazz. His virtuosity and amazing gift of improvisation have delighted audiences throughout the U. S.
