Toby Greenwood’s We Free Kings/ is an acoustic sextet playing music written and arranged by the Leeds based saxophonist. Strong, evocative, melodic themes are stylistically influenced by major American jazz composers such as Wayne Shorter and Charles Mingus with influences from Latin American and South African jazz. The group features some amazing musicians; Mark Chandler (trumpet/flugelhorn), Kevin Holbrough (trombone), Dave Walsh (drums), Jamil Sherrif (piano) and Richard Hammond (double bass).
