Dr Tony Genge is joined by respected Vancouver jazz guitarist Dave Sikula, and rising star drummer Graham Villette. Surely this quartet must be one of the "swinging-ist" groups in Canada and we are delighted for them to take the stage while Angela is in town... 2024 she has brought her music to France, Germany, Taiwan, Japan, Atlantic Canada, Central and Western Canada. back to her European tour of Germany and France in April. The vocalist has had a meteoric rise since her debut album in 2019 and has since toured her music across Canada, Japan, Luxembourg, Germany, UK and Türkiye. She has been positively reviewed by major jazz publications and important critics including JazzTimes, JazzWise, JazzLives, Syncopated Times, Whole Note, LA Jazz Journal, Jersey Jazz, Jazziz, Couleurs Jazz France and many more. Her albums have received airplay on CBC, internationally significant JazzWeek programs, and she was number one for jazz on the Earshot chart for multiple weeks.
Sunset Swing has assembled a thoughtful set list of jazz renditions of favourites songs you’ll recognize from popular culture alongside lesser known jazz standards, and originals penned by Verbrugge in a vintage musical theatre- and classic jazz songbook- style. Angela’s shows frequently sell out, we do advise advance tickets to avoid disappointment.
