Helen Sung Quartet "Her lyricism, light touch, and classical polish was complemented by plenty of hard-chord muscle." -The Guardian. Since making her Bay Area debut with iconic saxophonist Wayne Shorter in 2000, rising pianist Helen Sung has issued six albums and toured widely with the late Clark Terry, Mingus Big Band, and the T.S. Monk Band. Drummer Terri-Lynn Carrington featured Sung on her Grammy-winning album The Mosiac Project, a session that paved the way for Sung's entralling 2014 Concord release Anthem For A New Day which showcases her impressive scope as a composer. With John Ellis tenor saxophone, Boris Kozlov bass, Donald Edwards drums.
