Tord Gustavsen Trio at Vancouver International Jazz Festival at Christ Church Cathedral

Norwegian pianist Tord Gustavsen returns to the Vancouver International Jazz Festival with his new trio and a blend of Sufi poetry and Norwegian hymns. The music has just been released on the album What Was Said, his seventh for ECM Records. This new project builds upon Gustavsen's long and deep musical association with drummer Jarle Vespestad, introduces the entrancing Afghan-German vocalist Simin Tander, and explores the tradition of Norwegian church music in a most untraditional way.
