Anise Russow Quartet, 2:20pm June 21st: 19-year-old jazz/soul vocalist Anise Russow is recognized for her rich, expressive voice and dynamic stage presence. Originally from Victoria, BC, she began singing and playing multiple instruments at a young age, performing regularly throughout the city by the age of 13. Her versatility has led her to stages at the TD Victoria International JazzFest (2019, 2023) and the Toronto Undergraduate JazzFest (2024).
Louis Rudner's Fusion Throwdown, 3:35pm June 21st: Louis Rudner has been laying diverse musical foundations for over a decade. A native of southeast Michigan, he took up the violin at the age of eight and began studying classical music as well as American traditional music. Inspired by the energy of the music from the 1960โs beginning with Cream, Jimi Hendrix, and Santana, Rudner took up the electric bass to experiment with and explore a different sound palette. After several years playing music around the world and at sea, Rudner moved to Victoria. These days he is performing, teaching, and developing several creative projects, including his Fusion Throwdown.
Andrew Greenwood Quintet, 1:00pm June 22nd: Andrew Greenwood is a Victoria-based musician specializing in saxophone, piano, clarinet, and flute. Greenwood studied saxophone at the University of Victoria and Humber College. He is a member of Downtown Mischief, Sugar, Rosebuds, and Samba e Sol.
Susannah Adams, 2:20pm June 22nd: Swinging with ease, Susannah Adamsโ vocals are enchanting and sweet, yet daringly hip. Improvising within the framework of timeless jazz standards, this group creates music that is rich, vibrant and fully engaging.
Pacific Blue Big Band, 3:35pm June 22nd: The energetic 18-piece big band Pacific Blue has a repertoire that spans the decades from the Big Band Swing Era to popular dance hits from the present, and everything in between. This Royal Canadian Navy band will perform a selection of the big bandโs classic and contemporary music, with special emphasis on Canadian and local composers.
