The Viennese composer Barbara Bruckmüller founded her own jazz orchestra in 2009. This ensemble consists of some of the best Austrian and international jazz musicians. Her debut album “Barbara Bruckmüller Big Band” was awarded the German Record Critics’ Prize in 2013. In 2017 she received a composition scholarship from the Austrian Federal Chancellery. Over the years, Barbara has collaborated with musicians such as bassist Christian McBride, spoken word artist Wadud Ahmad and Austrian trumpeter Thomas Gansch.
