About the Brass-A-Holics
The eight-piece ensemble incorporates the core New Orleans brass elements augmented by a full drum set, percussion, keyboard and electric guitar. With the Brass-A-Holics, hear Miles Davis, Nirvana, John Coltrane, Wham, Cyndi Lauper, Kanye West and Louis Armstrong, all in one set! This brand-new sound in jazz was born in 2010 and conceived by renowned trombonist Winston Turner, whose roots stem from the St. Augustine High School Marching 100, the Jr. Pinstripe Brass Band, the Southern University Human Jukebox and the Soul Rebels Brass Band.

Turner pioneered the go-go brass funk jazz genre by merging jazz and the unrivaled New Orleans brass sound with Washington DC's go-go groove, topping off this instrumental gumbo with a personal touch of keys and strings. Although there are differences in culture, style and swagger within the octet, The Brass-A-Holics collectively bring a unique, intoxicating sound that captivates audiences.
