DC's original jazz big band, the 17-piece Capitol Lab Band, returns to Mr. Henry’s on Capitol Hill in a new earlier time slot from 6-8 pm on Sunday, March 8. We’ll play 7 charts never heard there and favorites from our Blues Alley show in January. Check out Gordon Kent’s big band arrangement of the Chaka Khan version of A Night in Tunisia, Eric Jesteadt’s send-up of the Wizard of Oz, the premiere of his magical new tune Saudade, plus Samba Alege by Philadelphia composer Wendell Hobbs. Two all-different sets at 6 pm and 7 pm. No cover charge, food and beverage minimum of $12.
