The Curtis Brothers, Zaccai (Piano) and Luques (bass) present music that is deeply rooted in their Afro-Caribbean traditions, while also drawing on the richness of American jazz. Their music is alive with the blues and swing rhythms of their Africa-Caribbean-New Orleans lineage, mixed into a spicy, hard-bop melting pot of fiery rhythms. Reinaldo de Jesus on congas and Richie Barshay on drums complete the ensemble. The concert will be preceded at 7:00 pm by a lecture on Latin American music.
