International touring artist, composer and bandleader Jamie Baum hits the DMV with a killer band: trumpeter Jason Palmer, pianist Andy Milne, bassist Joe Martin and drummer Jeff Hirshfield. On the jazz faculty at the Manhattan School of Music since 2006, she is a clinician for Altus Flutes/KHS America. Baum performs in many styles and leads the globally influenced Septet+. In this show she leads the Short Stories band, inspired by eloquent compositions of icons such as Wayne Shorter, Miles Davis, and Thelonious Monk - influential to her development as a composer and improviser.
