The Lovejoy Group is a versatile ensemble serving up energetic jazz, funky blues and smooth Latin rhythms. They have long championed the soulful blues rhythms of jazz, understanding that it's all about the groove! Karen Lovejoy, vocalist and bandleader, fronts the group. Karen believes jazz to be a beacon of light for the world. Her definitive sense of rhythm and phrasing gives her a distinctive sound and a style of her own. She loves good lyrics and enjoys digging deep to find the feeling for a tune. Karen is backed by an ensemble of phenomenal musicians that include Jerold Allen on piano, Herb Smith on sax, Lawrence Dean on drums and Emory Diggs on upright bass.
