Shannon Gunn Sextet at Montpelier Arts Center

Music-lovers will not want to miss this performance by a mostly female sextet led by one of D.C.’s most outstanding jazz musicians, trombonist and composer Shannon Gunn. Hailed by Washington City Paper as “D.C.’s Best Trombonist, 2015,” Gunn is the leader of The Bullettes, an all-woman big band that has dazzled audiences at venues and festivals throughout the Washington, D.C. region. This sextet features stellar New York jazz flutist Jamie Baum, along with other highly talented local players. They will be playing originals and standards from Gunn’s latest CD, What It Takes.
